Traditional Day of Caring (projects for Non-Profits)

Days of Caring volunteers give their time throughout the year to a variety of service opportunities to help their neighbors and strengthen our nonprofit and school community.

Grab a shovel and spruce up landscaping for one of United Way’s partner nonprofits, local nonprofits, a school, or donate canned food items for the regional food drive.

Days of Caring events are a much-loved volunteering tradition that expresses the philanthropic spirit of our community.

After participating in Days of Caring, United Way of North Central Oklahoma becomes more than a logo, pledge card or campaign rally. It becomes the means by which an individual can assist many people through one gift.

For those who have yet to participate, Day of Caring is a time where community leaders get together to tackle much needed projects for area nonprofits. Most projects will happen on September 23rd, but others can be executed before or after that date.

Any 501(c)3 organization can submit their projects from June 1st – July 15th. Multiple projects can be submitted, but each project must be submitted separately. Organizations will be responsible for coordinating details with the team that selects their project and must provide all the supplies the team will need.

Teams of volunteers will be able to start selecting their projects on July 20th starting at 8am through August 15th. Team leads will need to submit all t-shirt sizes for their team members after selecting their project. Please keep in mind that teams cannot pre-select projects, as they will be available for selection on a first-come-first-serve basis.

On September 23rd, we will kick off Day of Caring with a celebration at 8am. To stay up to date about these events, follow our Facebook page (United Way of North Central Oklahoma) and check out the event pages we have set up.

Please take a moment to read and review these materials before submitting your project proposal.
